Happy 2015!

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had a great Christmas. Here’s to a fantastic 2015!

In case you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to over the past several months, I'm still working with Lloyds Banking Group to transform their digital output. I've been working on the future of internet banking for the group's brands, including Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland. There's nothing to show just yet, but I'll keep you updated over the coming months.

I've also started work on some smaller projects, which I should hopefully also be able to share shortly.

Back in Lincoln

It was great to talk to third-year Graphic Design students at the University of Lincoln last week. I was invited back to my old course by Philippa Wood and Barrie Tullett, along with fellow graduate Ric Gravina, to talk to the students about promoting themselves online, their degree show and personal portfolio websites.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and as ever was really impressed with the enthusiasm of the students and the high standard of their work.

I also saw Barrie and Philippa again at the Small Publishers' Fair in London yesterday and was lucky enough to get my hands on one of their Start Stop Manifesto prints.

I'm hoping to be back in Lincoln early next year to run a digital project with the second years.

Collier Design is 2

It's now been two years since I made the decision to leave the comfort of full-time employment and jump into the world of freelancing.

I've been lucky enough to work with some fantastic people and experience a much wider range of clients and projects than I could have hoped for working in an agency. And the extra money has also enabled Annie and I to buy our first house, something we thought would be years away.

This year saw new projects with SomeOne/Else, including designing a new booking engine for S7 Airlines, and new clients, including Ideas Made Digital and Lloyds Banking Group. The latter being a massive challenge to look at the future of internet banking and transform the digital output of one of the UK's largest financial organisations.

Thank you to everyone I've worked with over the past year. Here's to more of the same for year three...
